Rhodes Athletic Hall of Fame
Sarah Bowen is one of the most decorated softball players in Lynx history. She was a dual threat at the plate and in the circle, and arguably the best overall player on teams that recorded three of the highest single-season win totals in Rhodes history (2009, 2010, 2011). She was selected to the SCAC 30th Anniversary team, evidence that she was not only one of the best to play at Rhodes, but one of the best in the history of the SCAC.
Sara ranks in the top three all-time in 13 statistical categories at Rhodes. She was a four-time all-SCAC performer and a 2011 SCAC co-pitcher of the year. She ranks second all-time in the SCAC in strikeouts, and her 23 strikeouts against Austin College remain the SCAC record.
Sara was as impressive at the plate as she was in the circle. She remains fourth in SCAC history in doubles, seventh in home runs, and won the SCAC batting title in 2009, batting 464. Sara ranks in the top five of alltime Rhodes records in six categories and is the only softball player in Rhodes history to earn first-team all-region twice.
Rhodes is honored to induct Sara Bowen into the Rhodes Athletic Hall of Fame on this 30th day of September, 2023.
