Better known to his teammates and coaches as “Solly,” the ever-smiling, always gregarious Craig Solomon has a lasting place in the heart and history of Rhodes. During his junior year he led the nation in passing (his longest pass play was 98 yards) and propelled the Lynx to a 9-1-1 record. Selected to numerous All-American teams his junior and senior years, Craig holds fourteen Rhodes football records. Two of his most remarkable accomplishments are his 513 yards passing against Principia and his 71 career touchdown passes between 1975-78.

Also an excellent baseball player, Solly was a three-year starter at shortstop.

In 1994 Rhodes and his teammates recognized its all-time greatest quarterback by dedicating a new football practice field, the Craig Solomon Field, in his memory. Every summer the Craig Solomon Memorial Golf Tournament is for the college, his teammates and friends.

In recognition of an athlete who was a true champion, we are honored to induct CRAIG ROBERT SOLOMON into the Rhodes Athletic Hall of Fame this 20th day of October, 2000.
