Men’s basketball Hall of Fame head coach Herb Hilgeman described Rozell Henderson as extremely versatile, saying, “Rozell was a strong athletic player that could play any position on the court. He started as a power forward, but even started one game for us at point guard.”

Henderson, who was a member of the Lynx men’s basketball program from 1981 to 1985, is one of the top-15 scorers in Lynx history, amassing a career total of 1,216 points. He garnered all-conference honors in the College Athletic Conference his junior and senior seasons, and was voted co-captain his senior year.

During his junior campaign, Henderson averaged 15 points per game and earned second-team All-District honors by the National Basketball Coaches Association.

According to longtime friend and former teammate Dr. Russ Wigginton ’88, “Playing with Rozell was a privilege. A man of few words who let his performance on the court do his talking, Rozell was a tremendous player and consummate teammate who modeled professionalism.”

In recognition of his leadership, work ethic, and standout play on the court, we are honored to induct Rozell Henderson into the Rhodes Athletic Hall of Fame this 19th day of October, 2018.
