As a member of Robert Shankman’s first recruiting class, Billie Ann Snodgrass was known for her incredible performance and leadership on the track and the cross country course.  Billie Ann played a key role in developing the foundation of the current distance program at Rhodes, providing passion, leadership and great athleticism.  Billie Ann’s work ethic and commitment established a standard of excellence, which is a tradition in the Lynx distance program today.

On the track, Billie Ann was named All Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) in 1993, 1994 and 1996, competing in the 1500, 3000, 5000 and 10,000 meter runs.  She led the Lynx to a 4th place finish in the first SCAC Championship meet her freshman year, followed by 2nd place finishes her sophomore and junior years.  During her senior year, Billie Ann led Rhodes to their first ever SCAC Track & Field title.

In Cross Country, Billie Ann earned All-SCAC honors four consecutive years, again leading the Lynx to their first SCAC Championship in 1995.  In addition, Billie Ann was named to the NCAA All-Region Team three times.  Her performance at the 1995 NCAA Southeast Region Championship helped Rhodes earn a 2nd place finish, which still ranks among the strongest performances in program history.

In recognition of her accomplishments as an outstanding student, athlete, and leader on and off the track, Rhodes is honored to induct BILLIE ANN SNODGRASS GEBB in the Athletic Hall of Fame the 25th day of October, 2013
