  • SET UP
  • Rhodes took a big weight off their shoulders last week, taking two of three from the Hendrix Warriors in their last SAA homestand of the season. The Lynx wrap up SAA play against Centre as they look to improve on their playoff seeding.

  • The Lynx offense looked like it did at the beginning of the year last weekend. Rhodes struck for 23 runs in three games as they took two of three from Hendrix. They had a three-run lead in the game lost as well. Each game had a different hitter coming through in the clutch. Hannah Grace Roden, Madison Bromley, Cam Ferguson and Hannah Schweiger all had solid at bats. In the circle, Madison Keller dominated with a pair of starts and a pair of wins. She tallied nine strikeouts in ten innings, and allowed just two runs on seven hits.

  • SET UP
  • Rhodes is on fire as of late, winners of nine straight (six of which were conference sweeps of Centre and Sewanee). They are fighting for a top seed in the SAA playoffs, as the top two seeds will each host a playoff pod the weekend of April 28-30. The Lynx are currently tied for second with Birmingham Southern. Millsaps sits at sixth with a 14-15 overall record and 4-8 in SAA play. Early next week, Rhodes will wrap up their annual home-and-home with crosstown rival, D-II Christian Brothers.

  • The Lynx are cooking in every aspect of the game right now. You want offense? Dante Messina is the reigning SAA Player of the Week after going 9-13 last weekend. John McNair has two walkoff home runs in the last ten days. Peter York leads the conference in steals with 23. How about pitching? Rhodes leads the conference in team strikeouts with 263. CJ Carron is third with 66 (in only 40.2 innings) and Nick Ferazzi is sixth with 45. What about defense? The Lynx are sporting a .957 fielding percentage as a squad, and have only committed five errors during their win streak.

  • SET UP
  • Rhodes played a daunting non-con schedule to start the year, and went 0-9. However, they have begun to turn things around with two wins in two tries against SAA opponents Oglethorpe and Berry. After a week off from game action, they will hit the road to face Centre (6-5, 3-0 SAA) on Friday and Sewanee (4-6, 2-1 SAA) on Sunday.

  • The boys are playing inspired ball, getting things done on both offense and defense. Christian Cisneros' return has sparked the offense, which has scored 27 goals in their two wins. Freshman Drew Downes is still the team leader in goals with 24. David Hart claimed the SAA Defensive Player of the Week award last time the Lynx played, and will look to keep teams under their season scoring average. Brendan Roberts has been strong in goal, inlcuding a pair of clutch last-minute saves in the Rhodes 10-9 win over Berry.

  • SET UP
  • Rhodes remains undefeated in SAA conference play, per the norm of the last six years. They have two games left on the schedule with Oglethorpe (8-2, 2-2 SAA) this week and Berry (8-3, 2-2 SAA) next Friday. Saturday's game is the last home game on the schedule, and the team will recognize the senior class of 2022 before the game.

  • The Lynx are putting up video game numbers on the season, but more specifically in conference play. In their four SAA games, Rhodes has scored 89 goals for a 22.25 per game average. They are also incedibly sound on defense, having allowed only 110 goals on the year (and just 15 total in four SAA games). Baylee Barker (65) and Payton Bennett (61) are the conference leaders in goals scored, while Emily Bruner leads the entire country in assists with 66. The Lynx are allownig clears at a miniscule .565 rate for their opponents, and have forced 282 turnovers (21.69 per game).

  • SET UP
  • Rhodes is looking to finish the regular season strong with their final home matches of the year. Despite the Lynx overall record, sitting at 2-1 in SAA play puts them just one game back of first-place. Sewanee has a similar situation with a 5-11 overall record, but a 3-0 mark in SAA games. Centre is also 2-1 in SAA play, and sits at 9-5 overall. Sunday's game will be senior day for both men and women, with a special ceremony before the matches begin.

  • The Lynx split their matches last weekend, defeating Berry 5-4, and losing to Oglethorpe 6-3. Daniel Trudell continues to lead the team from singles one, posting an 11-4 overall record as he takes on the opposition's top player each week. Gabe Williams is right behind him with nine solo wins on the year, all of them coming from position three. Trudell and David Phillips form the top duo for the Lynx, with six matches won from first position.

  • SET UP
  • Rhodes were on opposite ends of the spectrum last weekend, losing to Berry 9-0 before defeating Oglethorpe 9-0 the next day. The win snapped a three-game losing skid for the Lynx as they look to bounce back. Rhodes is only one game back of first place Sewanee (11-3, 3-0 SAA), making Saturday's match key. Centre also has a 2-1 conference record, sitting at 9-8 overall.

  • The Lynx have had an overall successful year thus far, with qulaity efforts ebing put in across all six spots in singles play. Esme Benjamin has 6 wins from singles one, while Julia Darkey and Emma McHale are tied for the team lead with eight wins each. Every player, aside from Benjamin, has a singles record over .500. The Lynx have an overall record of 23-18 in doubles play, including an impressive 10-3 record from position three where five different duos have played.

  • Rhodes opened their 2022 spring season last week at the Jekyll Island Collegiate in Georgia.

  • The Lynx finished 21st of 30 teams at Jekyll Island, shooting a 907 (+43). Avery Stansell had the lowest cumulative round at 223 (+7) across the three-day event. Stansell also had the low-round for the Lynx quintet, shooting a nice three-under 69 in round two. The only other Lynx to shoot par or better was sophomore Foster Wood, who carded a 72 (E) in his second round of action.

  • SET UP
  • Rhodes will tee off for the third time this spring as they host the six-team Rhodes Invitational at Tunica National.

  • The Lynx posted an 11th-place finish (of 24 teams) at last week's three-day Jekyll Isalnd Collegiate. Rhodes posted a cumulative score of 917 (+53). Bree Wilson had the best overall performance with a 227 (+11). She also had the low-round with a 71 (-1) on day two. Grace Young, Lia Johnson and Megan Morris all finished within a shot of each other at 232, 233, 233 respectively.

  • SET UP
  • Rhodes hosted a dozen schools last week for the Rhodes Invitational, and will now travel south to Oxford. A late addition to the itinerary, the Lynx will be the only D-III school competing among 13 D-I teams and one D-II team.

  • The Lynx had various levels of success last week. The men did not have any first-place finishes, but Billy Clark, Jared BRiant and Evan Byrd all placed in the top three of their competitions. On the women's side, the Lynx captured five first-place finishes including the 4x100m relay, 3000m steeplechase (Samantha Withers), 4x400m relay, pole vault (Kendra Payne), and long jump (Maddie Chandler).
