The Rhodes men got back into conference action on Monday, January 2nd and were able to open up the New Year with a victory, 62 to 46 over the Millsaps College Majors. A defensive struggle in the first half, saw both team score under thirty points, but the Lynx used 36 second half points on 60% shooting to claim the victory. Junior
Andrew Galow led the lynx offensively with 16 points, 4 assists, and 4 rebounds.
Tonight's first half saw both teams missing shots and playing extremely physical. Foul trouble from Senior
Kory Kilpatrick resulted in a spark from Junior
Joey Miller, who chipped in six points off the bench. A three-point field goal late by Majors Jackson Griffon cut Rhodes lead to just two heading into the break.
Millsaps came out strong in the second half, grabbing their biggest lead of the night 30 to 27 with 14:14 remaining on the clock. Your Lynx stayed patient, and from that point forward outscored the Majors 35 to 16, to claim their third SCAC victory of the year.

Johnny Dunavant chipped in with 12 and 10 points respectively. The Millsaps Majors were led by post players Jeff Brown and Kyle Kinnear, scoring 10 points apiece.
With the victory the Lynx surpass their win total of last season and improve their record to 8-4 and 3-0 in the SCAC. With only conference opponents remaining, the Lynx will hit the road this weekend to face division foes Oglethorpe on Friday (8pm) and Birmingham-Southern on Sunday (3pm).
