MEMPHIS - The Rhodes College women's tennis team fell to Division I Tennessee State by the score of 8-1 on Saturday morning at Dunavant Tennis Courts on the campus of Rhodes College.
In doubles, the Lynx found themselves down 2-1, but were able to pickup a victory at the No. 1 court as the team of senior
Anna Volkov and sophomore
Caroline Doherty won 8-4.
However, the Tigers took over in singles competition, sweeping through the Lynx for the 8-1 victory. Volkov put together a terrific effort at No. 2 singles, but eventually fell in three stes, 6-2, 1-6, 10-4.
Rhodes falls to 5-3 on the season with the loss. They will hit the road for the first time this season, going on their spring break trip to Orlando, Fla. They will open things on Tuesday as they take on Coe at 3 PM ET.
