The Rhodes College women's tennis team secured a 4–1 victory over No. 5 Centre College Friday afternoon at Leftwich Tennis Center.
Rhodes opened the match by taking the doubles point with wins at Nos. 1 and 3. Agda Laakso and Lilly Higgins earned a 7-5 victory at the top spot, while Claudia Ribeiro and Violet Taub added a 6-3 win at No. 3. Centre picked up the No. 2 doubles match.
In singles play, the Lynx clinched the match with three strong performances.
Gracie Rask led the way at No. 1 singles with a dominant 6-2, 6-2 win, while Laakso followed with a 6-1, 6-2 victory at No. 2. Sofia Rodriguez sealed the team win with a 6-4, 6-1 decision at No. 4 singles.
Centre earned its lone point at No. 5 singles, while remaining matches went unfinished.
With the win, Rhodes continues to build momentum as postseason play continues tomorrow when they face No. 1 Trinity University at 1:00PM.
