HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The Rhodes women's tennis team faced off in a double header on Tuesday against Division II Slippery Rock ranked No. 7 in the Atlantic Region.
The Lynx continued their outstanding doubles play with

Anna Volkov jumping out to a 3-2 lead at No. 1 doubles against the No. 9 team in the region, while
Morgan Wilkins and
Elyse Smith came out firing to a 4-3 lead as well. On the top court some of the volleys that had been winners early in math started coming back and the Lynx dropped some close games before falling 8-3. On the second court Morgan and Elyse battled to a 6-5 lead before losing the last three games and losing 8-6.
The singles matches were highlighted with wins by Morgan and Elyse. Morgan was able to frustrate her opponent playing No. 3 singles and won the first set 6-2. After getting down 4-1 in the second set Morgan was able to refocus and force a tiebreaker for the second set which she won 7-2. At No. 4 singles Elyse got off to a slow start dropping the first set 6-4.
