Nashville, Tenn. - Rhodes women's tennis opened 2018 spring play against Tennessee State University. The match was held on Vanderbilt University's campus in Nashville on Saturday.

Caroline Doherty had a bid night, securing the victory for the Lynx in singles competition. In the No. 2 slot, Doherty took down Morgan Cage 6-1, 6-4. She then teamed up with
Dasha Safarian to win at No. 1-doubles 7-6.
Rhodes fell 6-1 in the match. At the NCAA Division I level, each singles matchups are counted as one while whichever team wins the better of the three doubles matches receives one point, for a total of seven possible points in the contest. At the Div. II and III levels, each doubles event is counted as one.
Rhodes will next travel to Hendrix on Saturday, February 10th before returning to Memphis to host Spring Hill and Blue Mountain College on Sunday.
