ORLANDO, Fla. - The Rhodes College women's tennis team dropped a close contest on Tuesday evening, falling to the Coe Kohawks by the score of 6-3 on the first day of their spring break trip.
The Lynx began in singles on Tuesday night, getting a terrific effort from a pair of freshman in
Natalie Arnold at No. 3 singles and
Mary Mullen at No. 6 singles. Arnold picked up a 6-0, 6-2 win while Mullen was victorious, 6-2, 6-2.Â
Rhodes needed a sweep in doubles to bring home a win, but despite a terrific effort which included very close match, the Lynx would fall just short. Mullen along with fellow freshman
Madeleine McDonald picked up a win at No. 3 doubles, 8-2.
Rhodes moves to 5-4 overall and will prepare for a doubleheader tomorrow beginning with a 10:30 AM ET matchup against Aquinas followed by a 7:30 PM ET matchup against Northwestern (MN).
