MEMPHIS - The Rhodes College women's tennis team got back to their winning ways on Saturday afternoon as they rolled by the Huntingdon Hawks by the score of 7-2 at the Dunavant Tennis Courts.
The Lynx started the day with a sweep in doubles competition as the team of sophomore
Caroline Doherty and senior
Anna Volkov were victorious at No. 1 doubles by the score of 8-3 while the team of freshmen
Madeleine McDonald and
Mary Mullen won at No. 3 doubles by the score of 8-5.
At No. 2 doubles, the team of sophomore
Sara Lynn Abbott and freshman
Natalie Arnold were victorious in a close match, winning 9-7 for the clean sweep.
Rhodes took their dominance to singles competition where the top four courts were all vicorious. Arnold won at No. 3 singles 6-1, 6-0 while Doherty won at No. 1 singles 6-0, 6-2. Abbott won 6-2, 6-2 at No. 4 singles while Volkov pulled out a close on at No. 2 singles 6-3, 7-6 (8-6).
The Lynx moves to 4-1 overall and will return to action next Saturday as they welcome in Covenant for a 9 AM matchup.
