ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Rhodes College men's and women's track and field team fought through a windy meet against steep competition at the Washington University Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
Fighting 50mph winds in the field events, sophomore
Tej Suber threw an impressive 45.16m in the hammer, accompanied by senior
Haley Pryor with a throw of 38.69m.
Kira Curry had a good day overall. The junior finished seventh in the shot put with a throw of 12.08m and 33.12m in discus.
In the 5000m, senior
Brittany Alexander finished with a time of 17:33.52, sophomore
Reagan Alley also finished under the 18 minute mark at 17:56.13. On the men's side freshmen
Spencer Fields,
Reece Stevens, and
Dominic Voehler finished with times of 15:10.61, 15:29.50, and 15:37.81 respectively.
Senior
Matt Dsida placed eighth overall in the 800m with a time of 1:57.54.
Ellery Hayden had a great day at the Steeplechase, finishing third with a time of 11:35.69.
The Lynx will be back in Memphis next weekend on Saturday, April 9 when they host the Rhodes College 5-Way.
