The Rhodes Women's Track & Field team opened the outdoor season this weekend at the Mississippi College Spring Classic, coming off the indoor conference championships the previous weekend. The Lynx delivered a strong showing highlighted by event wins, multiple scoring performances, and numerous personal bests across the track and field events.
Sprints
Freshman Tatum Duncan made an immediate impact in her collegiate outdoor debut, posting personal bests in both sprint events. Duncan placed 7th in the 100m with a time of 12.16 and followed with an impressive 4th-place finish in the 200m, running 24.64—just shy of the Rhodes school record!!
Middle Distance & Distance
Junior Gracie Ebenhoh recorded a personal best in the 800m, finishing 4th in 2:29.47 to score team points.
Rhodes also saw strong depth in the 1500 meters, with several Lynx runners producing personal bests and collegiate debuts. Sophomore Caroline Wilder led the group with a 5th-place finish in 5:04.16, while freshman Kate Hinson-Hume followed closely in 6th with a collegiate-opening 5:05.31. Junior Riley Imbornone added an 8th-place finish in 5:07.59.
Additional personal bests came from Nina Brown (5:08.96), Ellie Spears (5:17.14), and Emma Henager (5:43.64). Freshmen Ali Di Lenardo (5:18.29), Anna Daso (5:26.52), and Caroline Bailey (5:32.78) each recorded strong performances in their collegiate outdoor debuts.
Hurdles & Jumps
Junior Shannen Alack had one of the most impressive performances of the meet, delivering a standout day across multiple events. Alack won the 400m hurdles in 1:04.94 while also placing 5th in the 100m hurdles with a personal best 16.73. She continued her strong day in the field with a personal best clearance of 1.61m in the high jump, finishing 2nd overall.
Field Events
Freshman Nora Rosenberg placed 2nd in the pole vault, clearing 3.05m in her collegiate outdoor debut, while junior Mia Pulliam added a 5th-place finish with a mark of 2.60m.
Freshman Andrea Holland contributed across the throwing events, placing 7th in the shot put (10.54m) and 6th in the hammer throw (33.60m). Holland also recorded a personal best in the discus with a throw of 24.71m in her collegiate outdoor debut.
With multiple personal bests, impressive event performances, and strong scoring efforts across several disciplines, the Lynx opened the outdoor season with momentum and depth across the roster. Rhodes will return to competition March 20–21 when they host the Rhodes College Invitational, which will also serve as the program's Senior Day.
