Women's Track & Field Compete in Rhodes 7-Way Meet

The Rhodes Women's Track & Field team competed at the Rhodes 7-Way Meet this past weekend, producing a strong overall performance highlighted by multiple personal bests, event wins, and consistent scoring depth across the roster.

Sprints & Hurdles

Rhodes opened the day with a strong showing in the sprints, led by Olivia Freeman, who won the 100 meters in 12.30 and placed second in the 200 meters in 25.02. Freshman Tatum Duncan delivered one of the standout performances of the meet, winning both the 200 meters (24.75) and 400 meters (57.94). Tanilya Clark added depth across the sprint group with a 12.85 in the 100 meters, a 26.39 in the 200 meters, and a strong jumping/sprint double performance throughout the day.

In the hurdles, Shannen Alack placed second in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 16.26, continuing to provide key results in the event group.

Distance Highlights

The middle-distance group delivered several strong performances, led by Anna Cantrell, who won the 800 meters in 2:16.42. Ellie Spears followed with a strong run of 2:19.99.

In the 1500 meters, Rhodes placed multiple athletes in PR position, led by Kate Hinson-Hume (4:53.08), followed closely by Riley Imbornone (4:55.47), Nina Brown (4:58.05), and Vivian Kalb (5:00.59).

In the 5000 meters, Caroline Bailey led the group in 20:48.11, with Abigail MacLean also contributing a strong effort in 21:07.95.

Field Events

Rhodes continued to show depth and strength in the field events across all areas.

In the jumps, Tanilya Clark placed second in both the long jump (5.27m) and triple jump (10.17m), highlighting a strong multi-event performance. Mackenzie Geer added a solid triple jump showing in her collegiate debut with a mark of 8.14m.

In the vertical jumps, Shannen Alack placed second in the high jump, clearing 1.57m. In the pole vault, Nora Rosenberg won the event with a clearance of 3.15m, while Mia Pulliam added a second-place finish at 2.50m.

In the throws, Andrea Holland placed third in the hammer throw with a mark of 35.50m, and Vivian Kalb contributed in the javelin with a throw of 22.34m.

Relays

The Lynx continued their strong relay tradition, winning the 4x100 relay in 47.98 with the team of Tanilya Clark, Tatum Duncan, Shannen Alack, and Olivia Freeman. The 4x400 relay team finished second in 4:15.19.

With multiple event wins, PR performances across the roster, and steady scoring depth, Rhodes continued to demonstrate consistency and competitiveness across all event groups as the season reaches its final stage.

NEXT MEET: A select group will travel to Harding ahead of the SAA Conference Track & Field Championships, set for April 24–25 at Berry College in Rome, Georgia, where Rhodes will look to capitalize on its momentum and compete for conference titles.

With momentum building across every event group, Rhodes now turns its full attention to the championship stage as the team enters the final stretch of the season prepared to compete at its highest level, ready to convert a season of steady progress and strong performances into results when it matters most.
