The Rhodes Women's Track & Field team opened Day 1 of the conference championships with an impressive showing in the preliminary rounds and scored events, highlighted by multiple finals qualifiers, valuable team points, and standout performances across the track and field as the Lynx built strong momentum to begin the postseason.
Sprints & Hurdles
Rhodes turned in an outstanding day in the sprint preliminaries, led by Olivia Freeman, who advanced to the finals in both the 100 meters and 200 meters. Freeman clocked 11.93 in the 100-meter prelims and followed with a 24.88 in the 200 meters.
Tanilya Clark added strong performances in both events, running 12.38 in the 100 meters and 25.56 in the 200 meters.
In the 400-meter preliminaries, Tatum Duncan posted one of the top times of the day, automatically qualifying for the final with a 58.38. Duncan's mark gives Rhodes a strong position heading into the championship final.
The hurdles group also delivered key qualifying performances. Shannen Alack advanced automatically to the 400-meter hurdles final after running 1:05.79, the second-fastest time in prelims. She also added a solid effort in the 100-meter hurdles, clocking 16.78.
Distance Highlights
Rhodes scored valuable team points in the 10,000 meters, where Elena Gentry placed fifth overall in 38:36.78. Vivian Kalb also competed well for the Lynx, finishing in 41:39.30.
In the 3,000-meter steeplechase, Riley Imbornone led Rhodes with a 10th-place finish in 12:34.25, while Emma Henager added a strong effort in 12:52.71.
Field Events
Rhodes earned points in the pole vault, where Nora Rosenberg cleared 3.11m to place sixth and score for the Lynx. Mia Pulliam also competed in the event.
In the long jump, Tanilya Clark narrowly missed the scoring positions with a ninth-place finish after a leap of 5.06m.
Andrea Holland represented Rhodes in the hammer throw with a mark of 37.96m.

With a strong opening day complete, Rhodes now shifts its focus to the championship finals, where the Lynx will look to build on their early momentum and convert preliminary success into major team points on the final day of competition.
