The Rhodes Track & Field team had an outstanding showing at the Rhodes College Invitational, with strong performances across sprints, distance events, hurdles, relays, and field events. Several athletes recorded personal bests, and the women's 4x800 relay set a new school record, highlighting the depth and talent of the team.
Sprints & Hurdles
Freshman Taniliya Clark had a standout day with personal bests in the 100m (12.47) and triple jump (10.22m). Freshman Tatum Duncan sprinted to victories in both the 200m (24.86) and 400m (59.66). Junior Shannen Alack earned personal bests in the 100m hurdles (16.20) and placed 2nd in the 400m hurdles (1:06.38).
Middle & Long Distance
Senior Ellie Spears ran a personal best in the 800m (2:23.71), while freshman Kate Hinson-Hume (2:24.62) and Anna Daso (2:33.87) also contributed strong finishes. In the mile, junior Anna Cantrell posted a personal best to win (5:06.22), with sophomore Caroline Wilder (5:33.79) and junior Gracie Ebenhoh (5:41.31) also posting impressive times. The 5000m featured personal bests from sophomore Elena Gentry (18:20.09), sophomore Nina Brown (19:22.75), and freshman Caroline Bailey (21:01.32). Junior Riley Imbornone finished 2nd in the steeplechase (13:01.57), and senior Emma Henager added a 3rd-place finish (13:12.58).
Field Events
Junior Shannen Alack placed 2nd in the high jump (1.57m), while freshman Nora Rosenberg also took 2nd in the pole vault (3.05m). Taniliya Clark contributed in the horizontal jumps with a long jump of 4.92m and a triple jump of 10.22m. Freshman Andrea Holland posted personal bests in the shot put (10.60m), hammer (34.62m), and javelin (16.16m), while sophomore Lizzy Randall threw a personal best in the javelin (18.83m). Senior Vivian Kalb set a personal best in the javelin (19.13m).
Relays
Rhodes relay teams also turned in strong performances. The 4x100 relay team of Tanilya Clark, Tatum Duncan, Shannen Alack, and Kate Hinson-Hume finished 2nd in 48.79.
The 4x400 relay team of Kate Hinson-Hume, Anna Cantrell, Shannen Alack, and Ellie Spears placed 3rd with a time of 4:15.52, while the 4x800 relay team of secured a 1st-place finish and set a new school record with a time of 9:26.49.
With a wide range of personal bests, collegiate debuts, and strong finishes, the Lynx capitalized on the opportunity to compete at home while honoring their seniors. The Lynx will head to Saint Louis this weekend to compete in the WashU Invitational where they will look to build on this momentum as the outdoor season.
