Women's tennis faced a tough Birminghm Southern team on April 14th for the first match of Senior Day.
The #1 doubles duo of
Carolina Sanchez-Hervas and
Alex Phipps were recognized as the only seniors of a young Lynx tennis team.
The match started off with tough doubles play. BSC was on top of the net and put a lot of pressure on the Rhodes returns of serves. They were able to pull out a doubles point and kept Rhodes in a close match. As the singles got going, things were looking good for the women until #1 Sophomore
Maggie Donoghue sprained her ankle and was forced to retire from the match.
Rhodes was able to get a singles point from
Krystal Skrmetta 6-2, 6-1 before the match was decided. Rhodes was up at #4 and #6 but the matches were pulled after decision was made.
The final match score was 5-2.
