After defeating Berry College the day before, the Rhodes Women's Tennis Team fell to Sewanee 5-3 at the Sewanee Invitational Sunday afternoon.
Due to inclement weather, the match was played indoors. It was determined that the match would be played to completion. Doubles play was highlighted by the play of junior
Carolina Sanchez-Hervas and freshman
Maggie Donoghue. The pair notched a big win for the Lynx at number two doubles. Entering singles play, the Lynx trailed 2-1. Donoghue continued her winning ways with an impressive win at number three singles. The freshman is quickly becoming a clutch performer for the Lynx. Another impressive win came from junior
Alice Havner, who needed three sets to pull out a close match at number two singles. Senior
Anna Beth Sanford lost a tough three set match at number one singles and the Sewanee Tigers rode that win to a 5-3 victory.
Looking ahead, the Lynx travel to Hilton Head Island, South Carolina this Friday for a series of matches over spring break.
