Our mission as Rhodes College's Intramural Department is promote, encourage and assist in the development of the "whole" student. We pledge to support our student body's physical, mental and social well-being through enjoyable and healthy competitions.
The following statement is endorsed by both the Southern Athletic Association, and Rhodes College, as the standard for good sportsmanship during competition.
The SAA and NCAA promote good sportsmanship by student-athletes, coaches, and spectators. We request your cooperation by supporting the participants and officials in a positive manner. Profanity, racial, or sexist comments directed at officials, student-athletes, coaches, or team representatives will not be tolerated and are grounds for removal from the site of competition. Also, the consumption of alcoholic beverages is prohibited. Thank you for your cooperation.
Individuals unable, or unwilling to adhere to the college's policy on sportsmanship may face any, or all, of the following consequences
- Immediate removal of offending individuals from the competition site
- Team forfeiture of current and future competitions
- Individual and Team suspension from future participation/play in intramural events
- Review by the college's student conduct board
Captains!! It is mandatory that you attend all pre-sport captain's meetings (either in person or via Zoom). As a captain, you accept responsibility for you, and the members of your squad, attending all scheduled competitions. If your team is unable to participate in a competition, it is your responsibility to provide the IM RSA's with no less than 24 hours notice, via email, of your team's forfeit or requested schedule change. If you fail to meet these requirements, every undocumented forfeit will result in a fine of $20.00 being assessed to your account and may also result in your team's removal from the league.
Rhodes College Intramural Forfeit Policy:
I agree that I, the team captain, am personally liable for all fines incurred by my team due to cancelations, etc., those fines will be assessed to my Rhodes' student account, and will be due and payable the next time the College processes a bill for my account.

March 4-March 11: registration for 5 v 5 Basketball
March 22-April 12: 5 v 5 Basketball Season
April 7 - April 14: registration for Outdoor Soccer
April 19 - May 1: Soccer season
