Biography

Dean returns to Rhodes after a junior season where he played in all 26 games for the Lynx. A strong, athletic guard, Dean is capable of playing either the point guard or the shooting guard position. A career 39.7% three point shooter, Dean has the consistent ability to stretch the defense, and the ability to get the basket creating shots for himself or his teammates. Dean is a very good offensive rebound for a player at his position, and grabbed 17 offensive rebounds last season. Dean came to Rhodes after a stellar career at Homewood High School in Homewood, Alabama. Dean is the son of Duane and Terrie Shroyer, and will graduate in the spring with a Chemistry degree with future plans of going to medical school. Dean’s favorite thing about Rhodes College is “how personable the professors are at Rhodes. They make you work hard, but they also care about how you do and their doors are always open.” Dean’s favorite thing about Lynx Basketball is “teammates. I have built lifelong friendships with these guys, and it has been amazing to continue playing basketball through college.”
