Rhodes Senior Hugh Stokes has qualified for the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field National Championship Meet in the 400 Meter Intermediate Hurdles. Stokes secured his spot with an impressive time of 52.70 seconds, which he clocked at the Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Championship earlier this season. The performance not only clinched the conference title for Stokes but also set a new school record in the event.
In addition to his qualification in the 400 Meter Hurdles, Stokes came close to earning a second event entry in the 110 Meter High Hurdles. His season-best time of 14.34 was just two-hundredths of a second shy of the final qualifying mark of 14.32.
The 2025 NCAA Division III Championships will take place May 22–24 at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio. Stokes will represent the Lynx against the nation's best as he looks to cap off a remarkable senior season.
