The Rhodes women placed 3
rd out of 26 teams at the NCAA Division III Region Championship Meet hosted by Roanoke College in Salem, VA. The Lynx were led by Sophomore
Elena Gentry who covered the 6000 meter course in 21:48, placing 5
th overall out of 175 runners. Following closely behind was Junior
Anna Cantrell (14th/22:24). Gentry and Cantrell both qualified individually to next week's National Championship Meet in Spartanburg SC.
Sophomores
Nina Brown (26th/22:54) and
Caroline Wilder (28th/23:07), along with Senior
Vivian Kalb (40th/23:34) rounded out the top five scorers for the Lynx. Gentry, Cantrell, Brown, and Wilder were named to the NCAA All-Region Team.
The Rhodes men also concluded a strong season, finishing 6th out of 24 scoring teams. In a field of 170 runners, Junior
Diego Donald (33rd overall) and Senior
Daniel Blaich (34th/overall) earned All-Region honors, covering the 5-mile course in 25:54 and 25:58. Senior
Jack Sullivan (41st/26:19), Sophomore Jack Hind (44th/26:26), and Senior
Owen Foster (60th/26:52) completed the scoring for the Lynx.
