This past Monday, the Men's Swimming and Diving traveled to Sewanee, Tennessee, to compete in a dual meet against Sewanee: University of the South and UT Southern. The men had a phenomenal showing, defeating Sewanee 173-58 and UT Southern 182-21. These wins ensured an undefeated finish for the Lynx in the regular season and were the final regular season matchups before the SAA conference championships in early February.
Daniel Snyder dominated for the Lynx on the swimming side, taking home 1st-place finishes in both the 500 and 1000 yd. Freestyle events with times of 4:44.89 and 10:01.52, respectively. Additionally, Jack Whitten finished 1st in the 200 yd. Breaststroke, Nick Kunst finished 1st in the 100 yd. Freestyle, Max Milburn finished 1st in the 200 yd. IM, and Arthur Bishop finished 1st in the 200 yd. Backstroke. Freshman Will Wertenberger took home a victory in the 200 yd. Freestyle with a time of 1:47.49, which was a personal best. Another freshman, Jose Garcia, finished 1st in the 200 yd. Butterfly.
On the diving side, John Beuerlein finished 1st in both events, with Parson Simmons finishing 2nd in both.
In the relays, Rhodes' men finished 1st in both the 400 medley and the 400 freestyle.
The Lynx have just under two weeks to prepare before they head to the SAA Championships on February 7th.
