The Lynx finished their SAA Championship in third place with a team score of 651, finishing behind Centre College in second and Trinity University in first. Several swimmers have qualified for the NCAA Championship and will compete individually to represent Rhodes on the national stage.
In the 1650-yard freestyle, senior
Zach Gilmore claimed fourth place with a final time of 16:44.88. In the 200-yard backstroke A final,
Josh Denckhoff earned second place with a time of 1:49.08. In the 200-yard backstroke B final,
Philip Mu and
Aron Maloney finished first and second, posting times of 1:54.68 and 1:55.22, respectively.
Will Wertenberger placed second in the 100-yard freestyle A final with a time of 45.41, while
Jonas Hostetler followed closely in third at 46.00. In the B final,
Nick Kunst took first place with a time of 46.35. In the 200-yard breaststroke, senior
Jack Whitten finished second with a NCAA Division III B qualifying time of 2:00.83. In the final individual event of the meet, the 200-yard butterfly,
Liam Ashton claimed second place with a time of 1:51.08.
The meet concluded with the 400-yard freestyle relay, where the A final team of
Will Wertenberger,
Jonas Hostetler,
Jeb Brownell, and
Nick Kunst captured first place in a meet-record time of 3:01.23. In the B final,
Philip Mu,
Josh Denckhoff,
Liam Ashton, and
Jack Whitten earned second place with a time of 3:07.72.
