Lynx Swim & Dive Beat Sewanee!

This past weekend, the Rhodes College Swim & Dive team competed in a meet against their conference competitor, Sewanee University. The men's and women's teams won, with the men scoring 213-70 and the women scoring 214-79. This success continues a 4-year winning streak against conference teams for the women's side.

In total, the Lynx won 28 events. The team continued to show off their depth, getting first, second, and third in 9 different events, including the women's 100 backstroke, women's 100 breaststroke, women's 200 backstroke, women's 200 breaststroke, women's 500 freestyle, women's 100 butterfly, men's 1000 freestyle, men's 500 freestyle, and men's 200 individual medley. On the diving side, there was also success. With a final score of 535.70, junior John Beuerlein broke the Sewanee pool record for 1 meter. In addition, sophomore Belle Morle earned her regional 1 meter score of 415.90.

Overall, the Lynx had a successful weekend of racing, with head coach Steve Webb explaining that "it was great to go out and get some good racing in while being tired. We are very excited to start our taper for the SAA championships, where we are going in with some high expectations." The team will compete in the SAA conference championships from February 8th to 11th, hoping to build on this success.
