CLEVELAND, Miss. (January 29, 2022) - For the second time this season, the Delta State Statesmen were able to outperform Rhodes in the pool, taking Saturday's meet by a score of 935-654. The two teams previously met on October 9th.

Daniel Snyder highlighted the trip for Rhodes, taking first place in the 1000 Yard Freestyle. The freshman posted a total time of 9:29.38, obliterating the previous school record of 9:54.09 which was set in 2003 by Chad Jones (
according to team history page). In the case of Saturday's meet, he defeated Delta State's John Stewart by more than eleven seconds. Snyder also carded a third-place finish in the 200 Yard Freestyle (1:43.57), and took home first in the 500 Yard Freestyle with a time of 4:35.42.

Evan Ziolkowski had a solid showing on the day. In the 200 free, he captured a second-place finish with a time of 1:42.01 (+2.61). He was also the top Rhodes performer in the 50 free, taking third with a time of 21.93. He then added another runner-up effort in the 100 free, finishing in 47.36.

Arthur Bishop had the fastest time in the 100 breaststroke prelims at 1:02.80, and was just a hair short in the finals of the same event. His time of 1:00.62 was bested by Delta State's Emanuel Fava's 1:00.26 in a tight finish. Bishop also finished second in the 200 backstroke with a time of 1:56.16.

Will Guzman was the only Lynx to place in the 200 butterfly, locking in a time of 2:00.67 (+2.09).
- The top finish for a relay team came in the 200 free where Snyder, Ziolkowski, Bishop and
Arrington Moses combined for a time of 1:27.49, only 3.39 seconds off the winning Delta State time.

John Beuerlein finished second in the 3m dive with a score of 284.78.
Rhodes will have two weeks to regroup and train before the SAA championships, hosted by Sewanee February 16-19.
