MEMPHIS - The 2018-19 Google Cloud Academic All-District Men's Track & Field and Cross Country team, as selected by CoSIDA, has been announced. The College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), recognizes student-athletes for both their academic and athletic performances. Within NCAA Division III, the Academic All-District teams are divided into eight districts as Sports Information Directors within their respective district vote for the high-caliber award. Rhodes has three of the 10 student-athletes representing NCAA Div. III District Five (AL, AR, FL, GA, MO, MS, NC, PR, SC, TN, VA) earning the honor.

Toler Freyaldenhoven picked up CoSIDA Academic All-District honors this year.
Fields and Freyaldenhoven, both Biochemistry/Molecular Biology majors, were participants of the highest-achieving Lynx squad at the 2019 NCAA Division III Nationals (17th), have earned All-District honors for the second straight year. This is McTaggart's first career CoSIDA All-District honor.
Fields placed 13th at the 2019 NCAA Div. III Track & Field Championships and broke his own 10k Rhodes' record. He earned All-Region honors with the second fastest 10k in the South/Southeast. Fields held the ninth fastest 10k this year in Division III and tallied first team All-SAA honors in cross country and second team honors in track & field. He was also named the 2019 SAA Male Track & Field Athlete of the Year.
Freyaldenhoven, the 2018 SAA Men's Cross Country Runner of the Year, became the program's first All-American in school history after placing eighth at the 2018 NCAA Division III Cross Country Nationals. This year the Conway, Ark. native earned first team All-SAA accolades in both cross country and track & field, placed 37th individually at nationals and fourth at the South/Southeast cross country regional.
McTaggart, a history major, helped guide the Lynx to back-to-back SAA Men's Track & Field Championships. In the final race of his career at the conference championships, McTaggart ran to a seventh place finish and personal best time in the 1500m run. The Elm Grove, Wis. native was selected as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant in Lithuania for next year.
To be eligible for nomination to the Google Cloud Academic All-District Team, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore in academic standing with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average and must be a starter or an important reserve.
Each of the three Lynx are now eligible to be selected to the Google Cloud Academic All-America Team, announced June 7.
