Greensboro, N.C. - Rhodes College sophomore
Hayden Hill finished 15th in the preliminary round of the 200 butterfly Friday morning at the 2019 NCAA Division III Championship, earning a spot in the consolation finals Friday night.
Hill finished seventh in the nightcap consolation race to place 15th and earned All-American honorable mention status in a time of 1:50.08. Hill will finish his first NCAA appearance on Saturday in the 100 freestyle. He becomes the first male in Rhodes swimming history to earn All-American honors.
His sister,
Allie Hill, placed 21st in the preliminary round of the 100 backstroke (56.85) Friday morning. She will cap off her college career, making her fourth NCAA appearance, in her signature race, the 200 backstroke, on Saturday.
