Memphis - After a big 7-2 win over Spring Hill College on a very chilly Saturday morning to open their 2019 spring season, Rhodes men's tennis then fell to Southern Arkansas 9-0.
The No. 10-ranked team in the Atlantic Region, the Lynx opened their first match sweeping doubles play, including a 7-4 tie-breaker at No. 1-doubles from
P.J. Shaw and
Andrew Morton. Freshman
Alex Lloyd then sealed the win after Shaw won at No. 3-singles and Lloyd at No. 5-singles. The Lynx were up 5-0 when Spring Hill won two singles matches on 10-point tie-breakers. Rhodes then closed out the match with two 10-point tie-breakers of their own.
In the afternoon, the Lynx suffered two close matches at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles, both 8-6 losses. Southern Arkansas is now 3-0 on the season.

The Lynx will hit the road next weekend to face two ranked teams in No. 14-ranked Kenyon on February 15 and Coach Cempre's alma mater, No. 27-ranked Denison University on February 16.
