Rhodes College softball sophomore Lauren King (Seattle, Wash. / Ballard) has garnered Southern Athletic Association Pitcher of the Week honors for the second week in a row. She has also been named the DIII Pitcher of the Week by Fastpitch News.

Last week King started two games in the circle for the Lynx. In 12 innings she allowed just one hit and struck out 11 batters as she threw her first career no-hitter (five innings) and picked up two shutouts. King leads the SAA with a 4-0 record, 0.00 ERA and 18 strikeouts on the season. Three of her four wins are shutouts. 

In addition to her pitching, King also had an unbelievable week at the plate. She led Rhodes with a .727 batting average on the week, earning multi-base hits in each game including two home runs in the same inning to start the week as Rhodes went 4-0 with three shutouts. King totaled eight hits on 11 at-bats, scored five runs, nine RBI and walked once. She also stole two bases and recorded four assists.
