Game Recap: Rhodes vs. No. 1 Trinity University
The Rhodes College softball team fell to top-seeded Trinity (Tex.) 14–4 on May 8, 2026, in Columbus, Georgia. Despite battling back to erase an early deficit, the Lynx were unable to slow Trinity's explosive offense as the Tigers used a massive third inning to pull away in the conference tournament matchup.
After Trinity jumped out to an early four-run lead in the first inning, Rhodes responded with a strong offensive surge in the third inning to tie the game. However, Trinity answered immediately with eight runs in the bottom half of the inning and never relinquished control.
Key Performances
Talia Travis highlighted the Rhodes offense with a solo home run in the third inning, while
Isabela Barber followed later in the frame with a two-run homer to center field that tied the game at 4–4.
Jasmyn Stanley continued her strong postseason play with a 2-for-3 performance and a stolen base, while
Kaitlyn Sun added an RBI single and scored a run for the Lynx.
Katie Bejian also collected a hit and reached base twice as Rhodes finished with six hits and five walks offensively.

Trinity struck quickly in the opening inning as Josephine Koelewyn launched a grand slam to left center, giving the Tigers a 4–0 advantage.
Rhodes answered in the top of the third inning, beginning with Travis' solo homer down the left field line. Sun later drove in Stanley with an RBI single before Barber tied the contest with a two-run blast to center field.
The momentum shifted immediately in the bottom half of the inning as Trinity erupted for eight runs on six hits, aided by several Rhodes miscues. The Tigers added two more runs in the fourth inning to extend the lead to 14–4.
Despite the loss, Rhodes continued to battle offensively throughout the game against one of the top teams in the region.

With the loss, Rhodes moves to 26–16 overall and will continue play in the SAA Tournament as the Lynx look to keep their postseason run alive against Berry College.
