Memphis - Rhodes College baseball senior Nick Bosma has been named a preseason honorable mention All-American by D3baseball.com for the 2019 season. 

The D3baseball.com preseason All-America team is chosen from previous years' All-American and All-Region nominations.

Bosma, selected as a utility player, was the 2018 NCAA Division III statistical champion in saves (16). Last season he was a second team All-SAA selection, second team ABCA All-South Region selection and was named a D3baseball.com honorable mention All-American. A physics major, Bosma has also garnered SAA Honor Roll honors each year. 

The Kansas City, Mo. native is the only Southern Athletic Association representative on the preseason team.

Bosma was the first utility player from Rhodes and fifth overall Lynx to have earned All-America status last year where he started all 48 games, spread across six different positions. Bosma tallied 28 starts in the infield with 17 coming at first base while starting 18 in the outfield and two games as the designated hitter. The right hander tallied a 2.89 earned-run average, hit .286 on the year and recorded 52 hits, 35 runs scored, 32 runs batted in, 10 doubles, eight home runs and three triples. Bosma also earned 14 walks and stole seven bases on nine attempts while leading the Lynx in home runs and slugging percentage (0.505). His 16 saves is the third highest number of saves in a season within DIII, tied with two other players. Rhodes advanced to the 2018 NCAA Central Regional where the Lynx finished the year 32-16. The Lynx, who are ranked 18th in Collegiate Baseball's preseason poll, open the season February 9th weekend in Jackson, Miss. They will travel to Belhaven to play the Blazers, Maryville College and LeTourneau University. Rhodes' home opener is scheduled for February 15 at 2 p.m. against Greenville University.
