The American Baseball Coaches Association released its first batch of postseason awards for the 2026 season on Tuesday afternoon as three members of the Rhodes baseball team were named to the All-Region VI team.
Corbin Martens,
Brad Larson, and
David Albert all earned All-Region Second Team Honors for the 2026 season.
Freshman standout
Corbin Martens made an immediate impact for Rhodes in 2026, earning Southern Athletic Association Rookie of the Year honors along with All-SAA Honorable Mention recognition. Martens started all 46 games for the Lynx and led the offense with a .328 batting average, totaling 58 hits, 14 doubles, 16 home runs, and 61 RBIs while posting a .678 slugging percentage and .450 on-base percentage. He also drew 35 walks and scored 47 runs during his breakout campaign. Defensively, Martens was equally reliable, recording a .984 fielding percentage with 305 putouts and just five errors on the year.
Sophomore
Brad Larson earned First Team All-SAA honors after leading Rhodes with a .380 batting average during the 2026 season. Larson started all 45 games and totaled 73 hits, 54 runs scored, 51 RBIs, 11 doubles, one triple, and 10 home runs while posting 20 walks and 15 stolen bases. He recorded multiple three-hit and four-hit performances throughout the year, including a four-hit, three-RBI outing against Sewanee on March 29 and another four-hit game against Belhaven on April 21. Defensively, Larson finished with a .981 fielding percentage, totaling 99 putouts and six assists with just two errors across 107 chances.
Freshman
David Albert earned First Team All-SAA honors after serving as one of Rhodes' top pitchers during the 2026 season. Albert finished the year with an 8-1 record and a 3.65 ERA across 69.0 innings pitched, striking out 50 batters while holding opponents to 74 hits. He recorded seven outings of at least five innings and helped Rhodes to wins over Centre, Sewanee, Oglethorpe, Berry, and Belhaven during conference play. Albert posted a season-high eight strikeouts against Belhaven on May 15 and threw seven innings twice during the year, including a one-run performance at Sewanee on March 28 and a postseason win over Berry on May 7.
