Maniscalco, Henry and Flores led the Lynx to a 2-1 series over Centre

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 | Box Score 3 Memphis - Rhodes College softball took the first two games over Centre this past weekend, defeating the Colonels 5-2 and then 5-4 in 10 innings on Saturday. Centre took game three on Sunday 8-3. The series puts Centre at 9-6 in conference with the Lynx sitting with a 7-10 conference record.

Game one
Jill Healy homered to get scoring started in the series when Kendall Henry's two-run shot tallied the game-winning run in the fourth inning. Two more runs in the sixth gave Rhodes a 5-0 lead before a single and an error allowed Centre to escape a shutout with two runs in the bottom half of the inning. Bri Maniscalco pitched her 13th complete game of the year, earning her first win of the day. Henry finished with three runs batted in. Five different Lynx crossed home plate while Jamie Jang's sacrifice fly earned her the final RBI of the game.

Game two
Trailing 4-0 after four innings, first baseman Karrah Flores hit her first home run on a three-run shot to pull the Lynx within one. Freshman Samantha Feinstein pinch hit for Peyton Clark and after Centre brought in a new pitcher, tied the game on a single to left field. Rhodes sent Maniscalco to the circle. She picked up her 13th win of the year without allowing a hit while also recording the game-winning RBI on a double to center in the 10th inning.

Game three
On Sunday, the Lynx led 2-0 after the first half inning before Centre's Melissa Collins tied the game in the third on her second home run of the weekend before the Colonels took the lead that same inning. Henry then solo homered in the fourth, backing up Collins' stats. The tied game was broken open when Centre crossed five runs in the fifth to end the weekend.

Rhodes was set to host Lane College in a doubleheader Tuesday, but that game has since been cancelled. Next up is a road trip to Union (TN) for a doubleheader under the lights. First pitch is slated for 6 p.m.
