Lynx complete duals against Ouachita and Southwestern

Arkadelphia, Ark. - Rhodes College swimming and diving produced 11 first-place finishes on Friday night against Ouachita Baptist University and Southwestern University. 

Rhodes men fell to Southwestern 162-98 but defeated Ouachita 151-105. On the day, they earned tallied six first place finishes, two second place finishes and placed third in three events to record 11 top-three finishes. The Lynx women defeated both Southwestern (138-118) and Ouachita (168-81). They recorded five first place finishes, eight second place finishes and seven third place finishes to total 20 top-three finishes.

Paving the way was sophomore Hayden Hill in the 1000m freestyle. Hill's time of 9:58.08 was under four seconds slower than Rhodes' current record, however he raced over 23 minutes ahead of the second place finisher. Hill placed first in a total of three events including the 200 butterfly and 100 backstroke. Evan Ziolkowski and Harrison Rozman tied for first in the 50 freestyle in a time of 22:93 with Zac Gammons on their heels with a time of 23 seconds flat. Freshman Roland Change also earned first place after winning the 400 IM in 4:25.04.

The Rhodes women won the 200 medley relay (Allie Hill, Emily Ulmer, Julia Cronk, Madi Griffin), Erin Osborne won the 1000 freestyle, and Allie Hill won the 200 backstroke, 100 buttlerfly and 400 IM. 

Next weekend the Lynx will travel to Conway, Ark. to take on Hendrix College at 1 p.m.
