MEMPHIS - The Rhodes College women's tennis team fell short to the Millsaps College Majors on Saturday morning in conference play by the score of 7-2 at Dunavant Tennis Courts.
It was a close battle in doubles as sophomore
Sara Lynn Abbott and freshman
Natalie Arnold picked up an 8-6 win at No. 2 doubles. Rhodes dropped an 8-5 contest at No. 1 doubles followed by a 9-8 (3) loss at No. 3 doubles.
In singles action, Arnold picked up a 6-0, 6-3 win at No. 3 singles as she continues her impressive play in her rookie season. Freshmen
Madeleine McDonald and
Mary Mullen dropped a pair of close three set matched at No. 5 and No. 6 singles as Millsaps eventually pulled away for the win.
The Lynx move to 8-6 overall and 0-2 in conference play. They continue to seek their first SAA win of the season as they are back in action tomorrow morning at 9 AM as they welcome in Birmingham-Southern.
