MEMPHIS - The Rhodes College women's tennis team dropped their Southern Athletic Association opener to Hendrix College on Sunday afternoon at Dunavant Tennis Courts by the score of 6-3.
Rhodes dropped the doubles point, but got a terrific efforts at No. 1 doubles by senior
Anna Volkov and sophomore
Caroline Doherty, picking up the lone win by the score of 8-4.
Doherty was also terrific at No. 1 singles, picking up a 6-1, 4-6, 6-4 three set victory while freshman
Natalie Arnold was victorious at No. 3 singles, also winning a three set thriller, 6-7 (6-8), 6-1, 7-5.
Rhodes falls to 5-2 overall and 0-1 in the SAA. They return to action on Saturday morning as they welcome in Tennessee State at 9 AM and Arkansas-Pine Bluff at 2:30 PM in a doubleheader.
