JACKSON, Miss. - The Rhodes College women's tennis team fell to Millsaps College on Saturday afternoon in Jackson by the score of 7-2 in Southern Athletic Association play.
Rhodes was down two players to injury and immediately fell behind 3-0 as they fell by default in two singles matches and one doubles match. The No. 2 team of senior
Annie Thomas and freshman
Sara Lynn Abbott picked up a big win at No. 2 doubles, scoring an 8-5 victory to make it a 4-1 match after falling at No. 1 doubles.
Abbott continued to play well, earning a 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 3 singles, but it would not be enough as the Majors would take the remaining three matches to score the 7-2 win over the Lynx.
The Lynx move to 6-12 overall and 1-5 in SAA play. They will conclude their regular season tomorrow afternoon in a road contest against the Birmingham-Southern Panthers.
