MEMPHIS - After falling behind 2-1 in doubles competition, the Rhodes College men's tennis team swept the singles competition to come-from-behind and defeat Division II Christian Brothers, 7-2, to remain perfect on the year.

After falling in No. 2 doubles, 8-1, the team of juniors Albert Vacheron and Daniel Olivier defeated Nick Cotros and Abel Kim at No. 3 doubles to even things up at one a piece. However, the Bucs would win at No. 1 doubles, 8-4, to take a 2-1 lead.

The lead would be short lived as Rhodes stepped it up in singles competition. Freshman Henry Barrett got things rolling with a 6-3, 6-1 win at No. 3 singles while Vacheron evened things up with a 6-3, 6-4 win at No. 2 singles.

Rhodes went on top 4-3 when senior Eliot Blatt defeated Eric Mueller, 6-4, 6-1 at No. 1 singles. Senior Greyson Brilliant wasn't far behind as he clinched the match for the Lynx with a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 4 singles.

The Lynx were done yet despite clinching the match as Olivier won at No. 5 singles, 6-0, 6-2, and freshman Sean Hogan took a win at No. 6 singles, 6-0, 6-1. 

Rhodes is now 3-0 on the year and will return to action this weekend as they welcome in CBU, Delta State, Kentucky Wesleyan, Wesleyan (Ga.), and Tennessee State for the Southern Shootout at the Dunavant Tennis Complex. The Lynx will take on Tennessee State and Delta State on Saturday at 9 AM and 1 PM.
