RICHMOND, Ky. – The Lynx Women's Tennis Team traveled to Richmond, Ky. this weekend to kick-off their play in the Southern Athletic Association against Centre College.
 
Playing on the indoor courts at Eastern Kentucky University Prianka Bose took the court at No. 6 singles for her first match of the spring season.  Bose got off to a quick start winning the first set 6-3. After dropping the second set 6-1 they started a 10-point tiebreaker for the third set. After fighting to get up 9-8 Prianka fought through a 40 shot rally with overheads and lobs before losing the point and her momentum.
 
Going into the doubles matches Morgan Wilkins and Elyse Smith cruised at the No. 2 position and were able to secure an 8-2 win and improve their record this spring to 8-3.  At the No. 1 doubles position Anna Volkov and Amelia McIsaac played tough against a talented Centre team before losing 6-8.
 
In singles Amelia had a battle with Centre's No. 1 singles player, freshman Aliza Williams, who came away with a win and improved her record to 6-1 this spring. At the No. 3 position Morgan Wilkins was able to secure her eighth win in a row with a 6-3 6-3 victory. Once the match was decided Anna Volkov and Elyse Smith both had to suspend play in their matches in tight first sets.
 
The Rhodes tennis teams travel to Sewanee to take on last year's conference champions.
