MEMPHIS, Tenn. – After two tough road losses last weekend against Southern Athletic Assocation opponents Millsaps College and Birmingham Southern College, the Rhodes women's tennis team got an important conference win over the Centre College Colonels in their senior day home opener.
Rhodes swept the doubles points from Centre with wins from
Amelia McIsaac and
Anna Volkov,
Elyse Smith and
Morgan Wilkins, and
Kristal Skrmetta and Alli Heinemeyer 8-5, 8-4, and 8-3 respectively.
The Lynx split the doubles with Centre, but with wins from
Morgan Wilkins and
Anna Volkov at Line two and Line three, the match was clinched and the players attention turned to the No. 16 Ranked team in the nation, defending SAA Conference Champion Sewanee Tigers. That match will take place tomorrow, April 6, at the Dunavant Tennis Center Courts at 9 a.m.
