Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Rhodes men's soccer conquers Huntingdon, 4-0

DECATUR, Ala. – Rhodes men's soccer rallies for 4-0 win over Huntingdon College on Sunday in a neutral site game.

The Lynx now hold to a 5-4 overall record while the Hawks fall to 2-5-2 on the year.

Rhodes went straight to work, scoring a goal in the opening minute of play when Evan Wladis finished a Jason Crutcher pass to make the score 1-0. The Lynx would score a second time in the first half when Wladis again found the back of the net in the 14th minute this time off a Davis Weidow set up. Rhodes would take a 2-0 lead into the halftime break.

The Lynx came out and again went right to work when Crutcher finished a Jonathan Fisher, Jack Hagedorn combo to make the count 3-0 at the 55 minute mark. Rhodes scored their final goal in the 64th minute when Fisher switched roles and put away a Crutcher pass to make the final tally 4-0.

"We didn't play to our full potential today, but it was nice to get the win," said head coach Andy Marcinko. "We know we can't play like that and expect to do well in conference, so we've got a lot of room to improve."

The Lynx only outshot the Hawks by a slim count of 13-11, and didn't take any corner kicks in the contest that saw Huntingdon take one.

Riley Sheen earned his fifth win in goal for Rhodes, playing all 90 minutes and snagging four saves.

The Lynx will open conference play this weekend as they travel to Birmingham Southern College on Oct. 5 to take on the Panthers at 2 p.m.
