In game 1 Rhodes jumped out to a 3-1 lead after the 1st inning before adding 4 more runs in the 2nd inning to push the score to 7-1. Sewanee would respond with a run in the 4th to pull within 5 but the Lynx defense focused their energies over the next 3 innings shutting down the Tigers offense. Although Sewanee failed to score again, Rhodes added 1 run in each of the final 3 frames to bring the final score to 10-2. For the Lynx,
Makenzie Martin hit her seocnd homerun of the season and
Chloe Hundman went the distance recorded her second win on the weekend.
In game 2, the Lynx showed their offensive deiversity incoprorating the long ball and exploding for 18 runs off 20 hits. Rhodes scored 1 run in the 1st, 3 in the 2nd, and 3 in the 3rd before erupting for 11 runs in the 5th inning. For the Lynx,
Makenzie Martin hit her second homerun of the day, as well as a double to cap off a 2-4 performance at the plate, scoring 2 runs and recording 3 RBI.
Jessica Brown continued her breakout season hitting 2 homeruns in the contest going 3-4 with 2 runs scored and 3 RBI. Lastly, junior catcher
Courtney Williams also notched 2 homeruns in the game going 2-4 with 4 runs scored and 3 RBI. Pitching the the Lynx,
Forrest Skelton pitched all 5 innings and recorded her team leading 9th win of the season.
The four wins by Rhodes gives them a 10-5 mark in SAA play and moves them into third place in the conference behind league leading Birmingham Southern (13-3), and second place Berry (14-4).
