MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Rhodes women's soccer ends regular season at home with a statement win over Hendrix College, 4-0.
The win advances the Lynx to 13-4-1 overall and 5-1-1 in conference play while the Warriors fall to 6-8-3 and 1-5-1 in league play.
Rhodes pulled out to an early lead at the six minute mark when
Sarah DiLella scored off a
Kelsey Keown corner kick to make the mark 1-0. Keown would get her own goal in the 21st minute when she buried a penalty kick to make the Lynx lead 2-0. Rhodes got a third goal from
Shannon Donelson when she headed in a
Breanna Durbin pass at the 31 minute mark. The Lynx would take the 3-0 lead into the half.
In the second half it was Doelson who would again find the back of the net in the 67th minute for the Lynx final score as she converted an
Angie Hurlow pass.
The Lynx had two different keepers earn minutes, with Allsion Cowling earning 45 minutes and
Chandler Kuhlman picking up 45 minutes and four saves in her time in the net.
Rhodes outshot their opponents 17-9, as well as earned more corner kicks by a count of 13-3.
Rhodes will head to the SAA Tournament in Birmingham Ala. on Nov. 8 to begin their post season.
