ROME, Ga. – Rhodes volleyball fell in three straight sets to the conference leaders Berry College on Sunday in league play.
The loss moves the Lynx to 8-17 and 5-7 in the SAA while the Vikings advance to 18-5 and 11-1 in the conference.
Rhodes kept the battle a close one with the Vikings, losing by no more than six points in any set. The Lynx lost the first game by a score of 25-19, a contest that saw 10 tied scores and five lead changes. Rhodes dropped the next two sets by scores of 25-20 and 25-20.
Rhodes offense was led by senior
Stephanie Renner, who swun for 11 kills. Fellow senior Alexis Krall added seven kills while first-year
Catherine Grimes contributed six kills.
Michelle Quina set up the offence, earning 27 assists in the outing. The senior also grabbed two service aces and five digs.
Maraia Tremarelli sprawled for the Lynx' digging high with seven pick-ups. Grimes added six digs, and Krall and
Mollie Newbern each contributed four digs.
Rhodes will return to Memphis for homecoming weekend as they host Sewanee and Centre College on Oct. 26 and 27 respectively.
