Biography

Maraia (Raya), is a redshirted senior Libero/Defensive Specialist from Hilton Head Island, South Carolina. She graduated from Hilton Head Island High School in 2011. Raya played for the Lowcountry Volleyball club. Her junior year, Raya was named MVP for the school volleyball and Defensive Player of the year her sophomore, junior and senior years. During her playing career at Rhodes, Raya has been named the SCAC Defensive Player of the Year in 2011, been named to the SAA Second All-Conference team in 2013, and to the SAA Honorable Mention All-Conference team in 2014. Outside of volleyball, Raya is a member of the Chi Omega sorority, RSAP program and she is an intern at MLGW. After her graduation in December, she plans on attending graduate school.
