MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Rhodes College defeated the Majors of Millsaps 3-0 on Saturday in Southern Athletic Association action.

The win moves the Lynx to a solid 11-4 record overall and 3-1 in conference, and drops Millsaps to 3-10-1 overall and 0-3-1 in league play.

Kelsey Keown led the Lynx with two goals in the first half of play. Keown's first goal came as a result of a penalty kick where the junior finished the ball past the goal keeper into the bottom left corner of the goal.
Shannon Donelson also scored in the first half off an
Angie Hurlow assist. Keown scored her second goal at the 42 miniute mark when she put away a Hurlow cross, and buried the ball into the bottom right corner. The Lynx would take their 3-0 lead into the half time break.

The Rhodes defense held up strong in the second half, allowing no goals and earning their seventh shutout on the year. Â

Allison Cowling earned all 90 minutes as the Lynx net minder, grabbing one save on the outing.

Rhodes outshot their counterparts by a margin of 19-4, and also took advantage of more corner kicks over the Majors by a count of 5-3.

Rhodes will hit the road for their next two contests as the Lynx make their first stop at Centre College on Oct. 25. Rhodes will also play Sewanee on Oct. 27.
