DANVILLE, Ky. - After a full 90 minutes and double over time, Rhodes women's soccer tied conference rival Centre College 1-1 in Saturday's SAA game at Colonel Field.
 
The tie brings the Lynx to 11-4-1 on the season and 3-1-1 in conference play, while the Colonels move to 10-4-1 overall and 4-0-1 in conference.
 
The match was a hard-fought physical battle, but Rhodes took the lead with a little over two minutes to play in the first half when the Lynx were awarded a free kick ten yards outside the 18-yard box. Junior midfielder Kelsey Keown curled in the free kick that found the right foot of sophomore Elizabeth Wayda, whose composed finish found the back of the net to make the score 1-0.
 
Centre came out of half time fired up, and were rewarded for their efforts in the 62nd minute when Katie Stevenson headed in a cross from Catey Hunter. With the score 1-1, both teams were fighting to get the winning goal. However, the score line would remain the same for the rest of regular time and two 10-minute over times.
 
Allison Cowling played all 110 minutes for the Lynx, recording 9 big saves.
 
The Lynx were out shot by a margin of 30-7, and were edged in the battle for corners 8-3.
 
The Lynx will be back in action against Sewanee on Sunday, Oct. 27 at 4:30 p.m.
