Today's double header with conference foe Birmingham Southern had the feel of a post season playoff game. With both teams battling for first and second place in the Eastern SCAC Division, the series is incredibly important to both squads.
Unfortunately, day one saw the Lynx drop two heartbreakers in extra innings.
Forrest Skelton and
Chelsea Peters pitched full games for Rhodes and did exceptional jobs, neither allowing a BSC runner to cross the plate until the 8th inning of each repsective game.
Rhodes dropped both games Saturday by the scores of 2-0 and 3-0 and look to rebound tomorrow, during Senior Day, to even the season series at 2-2.
On a side note, despite the losses, the day had great weather and an outstanding turnout for Rhodes Softball Pink the Park Game, raising awareness and funds for the early detection and treatment of breast cancer. RHodes Softball would like to thank all those that attended and contributed to the cause.
